Alameda Breakfast Lions Club

Lion Jim was born in Oakland in 1946 and raised in that city. He graduated from St. Joseph Notre Dame High School in Alameda and received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of San Francisco. Lion Jim worked as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of California for a few years.  He then joined the Alameda County District Attorney's Office and retired in 2007 as a Senior Deputy District Attorney after 33 years of service.

Lion Jim entered the Alameda Breakfast Lions Club in 1990.  His club elected him three times as President and he also served as club treasurer and was chosen Club Lion of the Year.  Past District Governors have selected him to serve on four cabinets as Cabinet Treasurer, Region Chairman and Zone Chairman twice. He also chaired the District Student Speakers Contest. In 2007-2008 Lion Jim was President of the Lions Center for the Visually Impaired (LCVI) Pittsburg.

Lion Jim is a Melvin Jones Fellow, a life member of the Lions in Sight and Lions Eye Foundation, and a Harry Aslan, Dwight Stanford and Fred Smith Fellow of the Student Speakers Foundation.  He is a 2007 graduate of the Lions Senior Leadership Institute.

Lion Jim lives in Alameda and is single. His hobbies are reading, sports, traveling, and now that he is retired, golf.  Lion Jim is honored to be elected and serve as Vice-District Governor to District Governor Jane Perry.

His campaign theme is "Renewing Our Commitment."
